Stained Glass Workshops

LET’S DIVE INTO:

  • One special trick to easily breaking glass where you want it to
  • The genius of the Tiffany copper foil technique
  • Soldering is an art skill you didn’t know you needed

Stained glass is a beautiful and challenging craft, and there is nothing like seeing the sun shine through your finished work. Because this is a craft with high startup costs, I have created a full learning environment with tools, supplies, and equipment to quickly get you past the initial expense and complexity to the actual fun. I provide hands-on instruction & support, practice glass, project glass, a pattern, supplies, tools, safety equipment, and I will do my best to help you take home a finished project or two.

1. TRY A BEGINNING STAINED GLASS WORKSHOP
I will demonstrate and give you time and tools to practice the classic skills of hand cutting straight lines, gentle curves, the Tiffany Copper Foil technique, soldering, and finishing. For this beginning- to- intermediate skills class, you can choose from a variety of fun patterns: turtles, frogs, flowers, leaves, geometrics, or I can advise as you design your own skill-appropriate project. All materials are included, but you are welcome to bring your own glass if you have something special you’d like to use.

PRICING
Each Stained Glass Workshop is $345 and includes all tools and materials, 1:1 instruction and guidance, and of course snacks! The workshop sessions are four consecutive Thursdays from 2:00 - 3:30 pm (for a total of 6 hours instruction/practice time), starting with the first Thursday of each month. Please contact us to sponsor someone who cannot cover the fee, or to request a sponsorship.

2. OR, TAKE A PREVIEW CLASS
This is a one hour glass-working experience to get a taste of the basics, to see if you'd like to take a full workshop. I will help you try the same skills as in the full class. You can cut some glass, try the tools, try foiling and soldering. Its a great way to get a taste of what stained glass is like before buying materials and tools! This class is offered from 4:00 - 5:00 pm on the first Thursday of the month. The class is $55 and you get $30 off a full glass workshop when you book within a week of taking the Preview Class. Please contact us to sponsor someone who cannot cover the fee, or to request a sponsorship.
