From beach weeks ‘pon Edisto & Seabrook Islands. At overlong intervals, I present myself to the Ocean to make the quiet confession; of bewilderment at my own and other’s choices. Of hopes that will never be met, of gratitude for good that came unexpectedly. I try to feel my scale compared to the whole rest of the galaxy, feel uncomfortably weightless, and make the annual promise to keep going.
