There is a movement to return to a tiered system of privilege in which women have less agency, no self ownership, and to reduce our full personhood. This movement profoundly misunderstands first the power of women to balance, maintain, propel the forward movement of civilized society; and second intentionally misconstrues for personal gain the very core message of the Jesus Christ they claim to obey. The presence of that profound misuse of the Gospel does not in any way diminish the intrinsic value of women (of any sort) in human society, or in God’s eye. I am here using pink to point to femaleness in the conversation I have with my paint, my inspirations, and my artistic intuition.
