The Truth is Messy: This canvas, and it’s two sisters, is like a physical place to have a conversation. I started with anchor shapes, the premise of the conversation, another shape suggested itself like a comment; I answered with color and marks. As the dialog built, I looked through transparent layers for the past, for hidden meanings. I watched for incoming energy and voice in the marks. Each of the three has a different balance of energy, warm & cool, and assertiveness. I hope the work is like a transcript of reflection.
